History

The Suntip is already a leading force in the area of production, storage, packing and exporting fruit throughout Greece.

The company was founded in 1998, focusing primarily on grape production and wholesale. Suntip, recognizing the global appeal of Greek grapes invested quickly and wisely and was met with success early on; the company now controls over 80% of the Greek Crimson variety production and boasts hundreds of hectares of privately-owned land.

Suntip's activities have expanded in recent years and include a large number of products, such as salad greens and potatoes. Since 2003, the company is headquartered in privately-owned facilities in Corinth, which is the main distribution center for the company's products throughout Europe. Suntip's state-of-the-art packaging unit in Corinth is a technological benchmark for the entire Greek region.

Combining quality, variety, innovation and the traditions of Greek agricultural production, Suntip continues to offer consumers nutritionally rich products on a daily basis.

To date:

  • 1999-2003: The Suntip acts exclusively as a 'middleman' in the grape trade
  • 2003: Inauguration of the new packaging unit
  • 2003 to date: Suntip is involved in international development programs for new varieties and is continually introducing new grape varieties in Greece, in accordance with the requirements of European consumers.
  • 2005: Suntip starts the cultivation of Crimson red seedless grapes in Trikala. By 2007, the total area cultivated by Suntip exceeds 520 acres.
  • 2006, August. A new management team is put in place, giving new impetus to the objectives of the company.
  • 2007: Expansion of production capacity to approximately 200,000 packages of red seedless varieties. Parallel expansion and a new variety of white seedless grapes (Thompson).
  • 2008: Butternut squash becomes the second certified product at Suntip.
  • 2008: Purchase of 520 acres Anavra, Karditsa.
  • 2010: Expansion of the company's product range to include iceberg lettuce, brocolli, cauliflower.
  • 2011: Suntip operates expands their products range to include kiwi.

In the ensuing years Suntip will continue its successful course based on those elements that have defined its course to the present day. Our aim is to continue growing while consolidating our existing successes.
